October and November

If you are facebook friends with any photographer's I'm sure you've seen floating around the words like: "October is to photographers - what April is to accountants." and "Be kind to photographers in October (and November). We have a crop load of editing (retouching) to do." I've loved all of the many shoots I've been doing to last two months! Here's a peek at a few of the shoots I've done the last two months.

Keep booking! Look at the photo below! Even though fall is over winter is still gorgeous!

Watercolor

Well this post is not my photography. It's my paintings! My watercolor class is my all time favorite class I've taken at BYU-Idaho... I think. It's so much fun! We're given a few guidelines and then we can paint whatever we want! I get to do all the cute-sy stuff that I want! This afternoon I painted this sailboat. I love the Ben Rector song called Sailboat. There are so many good different metaphors for sailboats, anchors, etc.

I painted a smaller one of these for my mom. She's just adorable. It feels so good to create cute things from nothing.

Baseball Players

Let me give you the back story to these images. In my portrait photography class we have to get a group shot in the studio. I wanted to get a dramatic Nike like photo. Sporty, tough, and awesome. These guys were willing to model for me and they made my vision happen! I've never had so much laughter at a session! We were all laughing so hard in the studio, then just as hard when I gave the images to them, and then again when we were all looking at them again tonight. We have fun in the studio! I had to post them on my blog! They're just way too fun. Hopefully these images at least bring a smile to your face!

This image is the portfolio worthy shot!
Notice anything different about this shot? Ha ha ha. If you make a doable request I will follow through! This photo reallly doesn't need that edit, but they loved it haha.

And the blooper/candid shots:

Even though I was told not to post any with the wigs I just had to post one. It's way too funny not too! I'll just end with their favorite again to make up for it;)

Little Brother

I'm sure you all recognize this cute kid from my blog! It has been a while since he's had any photo's taken of him. My little brother is one of my most photographed subjects. He is probably the reason why photographing guys is my favorite. Friday night I went to the movie Meet The Mormons with my family. The part that got to me the most was the story of the missionary mom. It keeps dawning on me how old my little brother is getting! I'm going to school with kids that are almost his age! We're only three and a half years apart. That gap gets smaller and smaller as we get older. He is going to be serving an LDS mission this summer! I'm going to have to go two whole years without taking his picture! It made me sad in the movie to think about how I really won't see this kid for two years. One of the hardest times in my life was when my older sister was gone for about nineteen months. It makes me nervous to have to let another sibling go for a longer period of time. Missions are such great things. We let our loved ones go for short time so that others will be blessed by the gospel. The gospel brings so much happiness to me. Another part of the missionary mom story I loved was that the Lord has a plan for each of us. He really cares about what is happening in our life. We are blessed by Him so frequently through others. He won't let us be left alone. Each and everyone of us is important to Him.
