Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! I took these at a light painting workshop. Have you heard of light painting? It's so different. It's pretty tricky too! Get a flash light, tripod, and a fun subject and try it out yourself! You'll need about a fifteen second exposure. Hold the flashlight close to the subject and move it all around the subject quick. Don't shine it towards the camera or you will get light trail like in the photo above. It adds a spooky effect though. It was a happy accident and works for Halloween. Light painting is my sister's favorite. Photograhy is one of her hobbies. Go see her stuff here. The first post on there is from when we took those fall photo's a few posts ago, the next post has her light painted bottles. They're cool!
What are your Halloween plans? I'm not a big Halloween person, but after it's over it means Christmas time is getting closer!

life

I posted this on my school blog a few weeks ago. There are many posts on there with photographs that aren't on this blog. You'll have to take a look! There are many photo's from my Bannack trip. I'll get around to posting my favorites on this blog.
This quote really is true. Read one of my favorite talks here. The plans we have for ourselves are not the best plans. We may think that we know what is best for us, but we really don't. There is a better plan for us. Things will work out in the end and what's best for us will happen. The trials we go through will just make us stronger.
I frequently think about what I want in life and things I need to do differently in order to achieve my goals and dreams. What are your dreams? Should I share mine on the worldwide web? Not that many people really read this so I might as well. Be ready for cheesy. All I really want in life is to stay close to my family and have a family of my own. I want to have cute lifestyle shots like Lex Zurcher. She takes some of the cutest images of her little family! Click her name to see for yourself. I want photographs I take to be the wallpaper in my house..on some of the walls;) I would love to live in a place that is kinda country. I would really live in Sugar City or Ashton Idaho. It's close to Rexburg which means as a photographer I could really get my business going the longer I stayed here, but who knows! I would love to have a cute house. It has to have something blue either the house itself or shutters and door. Traveling would be fun, but not necessary. I wonder if I'd even like it at all. I'm kinda a homebody (not the kind that never leave the apartment though). There's still so many places I want to see in the US. Tulip fields in the spring, the east coast in the fall, central park. I want a simple life! In time I can make all of those dreams of mine come true. The tricky part is finding someone who's dreams can match your own. Someone who will laugh at my silliness, but not make fun of it. Who is caring, will feed ducks, build a snowman, take walks in the snow, make time, and who will love me enough to let me take their picture, ha ha:) Leave me a comment! I'd love to see your blog!

Bannack Ghost Town! Sneak Peeks!

Have you been seeing my Bannack photo's on my Facebook page? Thursday my digital imaging class went on a photo expedition to an abandoned ghost town in Bannack Montana. It was a great experience! I entered the photo below in the HDR contest and was one of the finalists! Can't wait to share more soon.

Savoring Fall

Fall just feels so good. I love wearing cozy sweaters, boots and scarves. Today was one of the nice and sunny fall days. I'm one of those people who purposely walks on the crisp fall leaves on the sidewalk. Last weekend my sister and I were trying to find a pumpkin patch to photograph. We didn't find one, but we found this campground full of fall leaves! It was gorgeous! If we're Facebook friends you saw the photos of me laying in the fall leaves to take these shots. I love the crunching sound they make when you step on them. What's your favorite thing about fall? Leave me a comment!

Lately my love for photography has really grown. It's all I've been able to think about lately. I started this blog post in hopes that I'll be able to get it off my mind so that I can study for my art history test ha ha. Tomorrow I'm going to Bannack Montana! It's an abandoned ghost town. The last few nights have been like the night before Christmas where you can't seem to fall asleep. All the shots I hope to capture keep going through my head. There will be a whole bunch of models there dressed in western, old fashion, cowboy attire. I love photographing people so much. I'm so used to having the models/clients all to myself. Tomorrow I'll just take lead in posing. I'm sure I'll be posting some of the images tomorrow night. Be sure to follow me on Instagram if you haven't already.

Have you ever wanted something so badly? In my life right now there's many answers for the future that are "most likely". It's the chance that it won't happen that scares me. Although it makes me want to work even harder in hopes that it will work out. I'm a Photography major and a Visual Communications minor. Photography is what I do. I'm really blessed to be given this talent. Sometimes I feel stressed out because it's not the most reliable major. I've thought about switching it to something else in the past, but photography is really what I'm meant to do. I'm going to learn as much as I possibly can about it. BYU-Idaho has so many amazing growing opportunities. My time here is going way too fast, but that's a good thing! It means I'm really enjoying it.

Fall Portraits

Here are some of the portraits I took for my Digital Imaging class. I have such beautiful friends! Hop on over to my school blog to see others and if you want to hear how I edited them.

Keep Falling in Love

This shoot was so much fun! This couple has been married over a year and wanted to get some photo's together in the beautiful fall colors. I photographed when he purposed to her at the sand dunes. You can see those photo's here: at my old blog. It was fun to photograph them again! They're still so in love. It's so fun to capture how couples interact with each other.

This one is seriously my very favorite! Look how happy she looks:)

Sometimes I throw in a little text design for them:)

FALL

Fall is the one of my favorite season's! It's such a beautiful time to photograph! Have you seen my sneak peeks to the couples session I did on my Facebook Page? Couples sessions are so much fun! Be sure to book a session with me to capture you and your loved ones! A couples session is only $80. Send me a email to schedule yours at: kayliephotography@yahoo.com. I hope to hear from you!
I'm in a digital imaging class this semester. It has been teaching me so much! More efficient ways to edit my photo's and make them look more professional. You can see my school blog here: http://kayliecon.wordpress.com/. Life is good when I have really good grades in the classes that really matter. This semester has been a challenge. Last semester I only had about two or three tests total. Tests aren't my thing, but luckily the semester isn't over and I'm still passing my classes. I've also joined the Photographics Society offered on campus. It's fun to get to know other photographers who all have very different styles. It seems like everyone there has been a member for a while. It's a good way to try and make new friends, which really isn't my strongest point. This week we had a print contest and I entered the photo of the red fall leaf above. Hope you're all enjoying this beautiful fall!

Sugar City Engagements!

These two lovebirds were so much fun to photograph! Can't wait for them to seal the deal in November!
